The two-hour series finale was filmed over a period of roughly fifteen to sixteen days, beginning Monday, March 19, 2001 and wrapping principal photography on Monday, April 9, 2001, with second-unit work following on April 10 and 12. The production was carried out under strict secrecy, with the cast receiving pages of the teleplay in sealed envelopes and only the main cast given full access to the script.
