Quarto, [two volumes in four], xvii, [3], 330pp; vii, [1], 136pp; x, [2], 331-674pp; vii, [1], 137-262pp. Black cloth, black titles over gilt decorations on spines and covers. Covers of Volumes I and II have some spotting due to handling, plus spine heads are pulled. Two supplemental volumes are free of spotting and do not show signs of handling. Housed in publisher’s original cardboard slipcases (two volumes per slipcase), titles printed on spines, some shelf wear, chipping to corners of open end of Volume II. From a limited edition of 1500 copies, this being number 1265. A nice set, with Arthur Szyk’s bright vivid illustrations.
