Comments: The emotional account by Captain Willard Glazier of prison life in the Confederacy and their attempts to escape to the north. The book is based on a diary but was “dressed up” for postwar propaganda purposes. Other works by Willard Glazier include: Down the Great River, Heroes of Three Wars, Headwaters of the Mississippi, Three Years in the Federal Cavalry and Ocean to Ocean on Horseback.
