The USS Jimmy Carter is the third and final Seawolf-class nuclear-powered submarine. It was built by the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics Corporation, with construction beginning in December of 1998. Rosalynn Carter was the ship’s sponsor, christening the new ship on June 5th, 2004. The submarine remains in operation.
