Although Thomas Mante (1733-1802) did not join the “frontier war” between the American colonists, Canadian French and Native Americans until 1764, the last year of hostilities, he made good use of his time and developed one of the most comprehensive contemporary histories of the conflict available. He describes in great detail the frontier campaigns of George Washington, General Braddock, General Abercrombie and Colonel Bradstreet. He also writes about Pontiac’s War in great detail.
