Signed by Prince Albert, the future King George VI, this is the limited edition of The History of the Scots Guards by Major-General Frederick Maurice.

Octavo, [two volumes], xxii, [2], 410pp; xi, [3], 394pp. Purple cloth, title in gilt on spines. Top edge gilt, silver emblem stamped to front covers. Solid text blocks, sunning to spines, light wear to tips, shelf wear, faint wear to gutters, a very good set. Lacking dust jackets. Complete with 15 full page illustrations in Volume I, 25 in Volume II, some in color. Complete with 28 maps and plans in Volume I, 16 in Volume II, including large fold-out maps at rear of each volume. Stated copy 21 of 60.

Signed on the foreword by Prince Albert as Colonel of the Regiment. (Sutcliffe, 10). Upon the abdication of King Edward VIII in 1936, Prince Albert would ascend to the British thrown as King George VI.
