Stated “first edition, first printing” on copyright page. In publisher’s near fine dust jacket with battlefield scene on front panel, touch of shelf wear to bottom edge of spine and back panel. An attractive copy of this history of the Black Hat Brigade, which was also known as the Iron Brigade of the West, as it was made up of Western troops during the Civil War. Not to be confused with the “Original” or “Eastern” Iron Brigade, which was made up primarily of New York troops.
