In publishers first edition dust jacket, retail price on front flap, light shelf wear and wear from handling along edges, in very good condition. Signed on bookplate affixed to front end paper. Inscription reads: “To Jim Anderson. Who was there for most of this. Jim Baker. 9/22/95” The recipient of this book, Jim Anderson, was a longtime UPI correspondent at the State Department.
Comments: James A. Baker served as chief of staff for President Reagan, treasury secretary, then secretary of state for President George H.W. Bush. He reluctantly returned to his post as chief of staff shortly before George Bush lost his bid for reelection in 1992.
