Solid text block, top edge dyed red, a touch of sunning to spine, a near fine example. In publisher’s dust jacket, $4.50 retail price on front flap, light wear to corners, some shelf wear, two-inch closed tear along top front edge of spine, a very good example. Signed by the author on front free endpaper: “A man reasonably content with his fair share of the world’s wealth may get more out of this life than another hell-bent on grabbing it all / To Mary Nichols / – with very best / – John Rockefeller / 4/19/75.”

John W. Rockefeller, Jr. (1899-1987) was an MIT graduate, engineer, author and prominent member of the Rockefeller family.Mary Nichols, the recipient of this book, is the former chairwoman of the California Air Resources Board. She is known as the “Queen of Green” and has been combatting global warming through legislation since the late 1970s.
