    Octavo, 411pp. Full sheep binding, title in gilt over red and black morocco spine labels. Publisher’s original sheepskin boards, rebacked with original spine laid down over brown calf, corners restored, hinges rebuilt. Bookplate on front pastedown endpaper, gift inscription from 1907 on front flyleaf. Solid text block, occasional foxing, faint dampstain along top edge of text block. This is the first edition, first issue, with the Franklin Press imprint on copyright page. Includes the first issue errors: page 124, line 1 “canopy of estate”; page 263 “do not”; page 362 “reigned.” These errors were corrected in the second issue.
