First edition of The Savoy Cocktail Book by Harry Craddock.
Octavo, 287pp, [1]. Illustrated boards with art deco motif. Black cloth spine, title in gilt, but worn. Covers are worn, with some loss of gilt on both panels. Previous ownership stamp from “Bridge of Cally Hotel” on front free endpaper. Gift inscription opposite half title, dated 1930. Free of any marks or bartender notes. A very good example of this classic collection of cocktail recipes.
Illustrations by Gilbert Rumbold. This book was compiled by famed London bartender, Harry Craddock. It’s a collection of 750 recipes used at The Savoy Hotel in London in the 1920s. The book is still in print and used by bartenders today.
