Publisher’s original brown cloth spine and covers with gilt pictorial illustration of “Brer Rabbit” bound in at rear. Solid text block, faint wear to spine, a touch of toning to leaves, a near fine example. Complete with eight full-page plates (including frontispiece) and multiple in-text illustrations. First edition points include the word “presumptive” (instead of “presumptuous”) on page 9, last line, and no mention of this book on page [233] of the advertisements. (BAL 7100)
