Octavo, [eight volumes]. Full brown morocco, gilt trim to covers. Four gilt bands, with title in gilt on brown morocco label affixed to spine. Brown endpapers, brown speckled edges. Solid text blocks, light rubbing along edges. This work is complete with a frontispiece portrait of Gibbon in Volume I, and three fold-out maps in Volume VIII. An attractive set.
