Description
First American edition of One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez, in a second state dust jacket.
Octavo, 422pp. Green cloth, title stamped in gilt. Stated “first edition” on copyright page. About fine, with just a trace of dust along top edge of text block. Publisher’s production stamp on half-title. In the publisher’s second state dust jacket, $7.95 on front flap, short closed tear on rear panel, shallow chipping to top edge at spine, a very good example. Second state dust jacket lacks the exclamation point after “Latin America” on the front flap. An attractive example.
First published in Spanish in 1967, under the title Cien Años de Soledad, by Editorial Sudamericana (Buenos Aires), with illustrated wrappers.
