President George H.W. Bush was a frequent guest at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio. He attended the golf tournament in May 2000 when Tournament founder Jack Nicklaus was honored. While in Ohio, Bush stayed with Tournament Chairman Pandel Savic. The two days Bush spent with Savic are recounted in the book, A Wonderful Run at Life: The Stories of Pandel Savic (2016). While the visit was short, the two shared stories of their time during World War II and the young career of Tiger Woods. Pandel Savic died in 2018.
