    Description

First edition of Big-Enough, written and illustrated by Will James.

Octavo, [4], 314pp. Yellow cloth, title on front cover and spine. No additional printings listed, with “Scribner’s A” on copyright page. Solid text block, clear illustrations, previous ownership notation on front free endpaper, a near fine example. In publisher’s dust jacket, $2.50 retail price on front flap, soiling to covers, some loss at spine, a very good example.

Will James (1892-1942) was an artist and author focusing on the American West. One of his other works, Smoky the Cowhorse, won the 1927 Newbery Medal, a special award for achievements in children’s writing.
