Description
First edition of Europe’s Morning After by Kenneth L. Roberts, in scarce dust jacket.
Octavo, [vi], 410pp. Green cloth, title in gilt on spine, title and design on front cover in blue and gilt. Publisher’s code “B-V” (relating to February 1921) on copyright page, with no additional printings listed. Solid text block, foxing along fore edge, a touch of foxing in the text block, limited to title page and foreword, some leaves remain unopened, a very good example. In publisher’s dust jacket, $3.00 retail price on front flap, small closed tear on front panel, a touch of staining, minor wear on edges, a near fine example. A rare, well-presenting example of Kenneth Robert’s first book.
Kenneth Roberts wrote historical fiction, winning the Pulitzer Prize Special Citation in 1957 for his novels focusing on early American history. Europe’s Morning After contains a selection of his essays originally written for the Saturday Evening Post.
