Limited edition publication of 1000 copies, this being number 193. Inscribed by William L. Hungate to Stan Musial: “Feb. 24, 1995. To Stan Musial, A Good example for American Youth, both on and off the diamond, Sincerely, Bob Hungate.” William Hungate served as the United States Representative from Missouri and was later appointed to the District Court of Missouri by President Jimmy Carter.
Comments: Stan Musial was a Major League baseball player, playing first base and outfield for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1941-1963. He is considered one of the most reliable hitters in baseball history, being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969. During his tenure with the Cardinals, he was named the league MVP three times and helped lead the team to three World Series Pennants. In 2011, shortly before his death, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He passed away in 2013.
