Bob Livingston served in the House of Representatives from 1977-1999, becoming Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. He was chosen as Newt Gingrich’s successor as Speaker of the House of Representatives, but declined the position after revelations of an extramarital affair. He came to national attention when he pushed for the impeachment of President Bill Clinton.
