(Sabin 22102) This is the stated second edition of the Memoirs of Elleanor Eldridge, with numerous printings of the second edition appearing between 1842 and 1844.
The first edition of the Memoirs of Elleanor Eldridge was published in 1838 and was quickly followed up by Elleanor’s Second Book in 1839. Elleanor Eldridge was a free black woman living in the Northern states, whose grandmother was a member of the Native American Narragansett Tribe. An important work on the life of a black woman before the Civil War.
