Photograph in black wood frame, measures 12″ x 14″. Letter previously affixed to verso, removed and placed in acid-free archival protection. Not examined outside frame. Letter states: “December 5, 1946 / Dear Bob: The President was delighted to inscribe one of his photographs to you and I am enclosing it herewith. With all good wishes. Very sincerely yours, Matthew J. Connelly, Secretary to the President.” Inscription from President Truman reads: “Kindest regards to Bob Moore. Harry Truman.”
Robert M. Moore worked for the Democratic National Committee, serving as Assistant to the Chairman, Mr. William M. Boyle. Mr. Moore was a lifelong acquaintance of Harry Truman, being raised in Missouri and a member of the Missouri Democratic delegation. He died unexpectedly in 1964.
