Octavo, [six volumes]. Black cloth, title in gilt on spines. All six volumes are first printings, with publication statement on copyright pages. Volume I includes the “Author’s Note” bound in at p. viii and errata slip at p. 610. Top edge dyed red, faded on most volumes. All volumes with a touch of wear to black cloth, titles with bright gilt on spine, all solid examples. Internally clean. Light foxing along top edge of each volume, scattered foxing to Volume I. Complete with fold-out maps and full-page illustrations.
