From the library of baseball great Bob Feller, his wartime Practical Manual of Martial Law, signed by Feller while serving aboard the U.S.S. Alabama.

Octavo, x, 184pp. Light brown cloth, title stamped in black. Light soiling to cloth. Text block solid, free of marks or notations. Ownership inscription on front free endpaper: “Robert William Feller, CSp. / U.S.S. Alabama.” Provenance: The Feller Collection, sold by Premier Auction Galleries of Chesterland, Ohio, March 2022. All items from the home of Bob and Anne Feller, Gates Mills, Ohio.

Bob Feller (1918-2010) was a Hall of Fame pitcher for the Cleveland Indians, playing with the team from 1936-1956, with an interruption to serve in the Navy during World War II. He was an eight-time All-Star and helped the Indians win the World Series in 1948. During his career, he pitched three no-hitters and was the MLB strikeout leader for 7 seasons. He was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962 and remembered as “the greatest pitcher of his time.”
