Comments: John Paul Frank (1917-2002) assisted the Chief Council of the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, Thurgood Marshall, to formulate a strategy for the desegregation of schools in Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka. John Frank also argued Miranda v. Arizona in 1966, requiring police to inform suspects of their rights. He authored numerous books including: The Justices of the United States Supreme Court: Their Lives and Major Opinions (1995), Justice Daniel Dissenting: A Biography of Peter V. Daniel (1964) and Lincoln as a Lawyer (1961).
