First edition of Red Star Over Poland, inscribed by the author to baseball great Stan Musial. Octavo, xv, 174pp. Tan cloth, title in red on spine and cover. In publishers dust jacket, near fine, $2.50 on front flap, light chipping at edges, illustrations and colors bright. Inscribed by the author: “With best wishes to Stan Musial / Who is as proud of his polish heritage as I am. Ed Kerstein.”

Comments: Stan Musial was a Major League baseball player, playing first base and outfield for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1941-1963. He is considered one of the most reliable hitters in baseball history, being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969. During his tenure with the Cardinals, he was named the league MVP three times and helped lead the team to three World Series Pennants. In 2011, shortly before his death, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He passed away in 2013.
