Comments: This book was released as four separate volumes, beginning in 1933 and continuing through 1938. Churchill began writing in 1929, shortly after leaving government and looking for a source of income. His choice of solider and statesman John Churchill, First Duke of Marlborough as his subject was due to his familial connections.
